Over one hundred years on from its establishment in 1890, this Normandy firm still proudly carries the names of the two family firms specialising in traditional carpentry and joinery that merged thirty years ago. Based just thirty five miles from the cross-channel port of Cherbourg, our firm has a forty-strong workforce.

Our qualified and experienced
joiners and carpenters are both painstaking and passionate in their work. They have won the firm much acclaim through such daring exploits as renovating the lofty Archangel’s spire at Saint Michael’s Mount through to the delicacy of their trelliswork in the park of the royal chateau of Versailles. Approved by the French National Monuments Commission and well-respected by architects and conservation officers working in French historical monuments and listed buildings, we have worked on hundreds of buildings owned by public authorities, ranging from cathedrals and castles to drawbridges and monumental stairways. Nowadays an increasing number of private individuals call on our firm’s know-how for their manor houses and other period properties.

Through a combination of traditional working methods and measured use of modern production tools and machinery,
Aubert-Labansat Workshops aims to fulfil its customers specific requirements and to ensure that the historic character of each building is respected. Today we are at the peak of our capabilities and are looking towards international horizons.
